We are a pharmaceutical company focused on the discovery and development of novel small-molecule therapies for the diagnosis and treatment of major neurological disorders. We were founded in 2001 to commercialize discoveries based on more than 40 years of receptor-based drug discovery research.

Led by our founder, Dr. Philip Seeman, the discoverer of the D2 Dopamine receptor and a global leader in the treatment of schizophrenia, our world-class research and development team is developing better antipsychotic and antidepressant drugs. 

Patients will have fewer side-effects and better outcomes. As a result, they will keep taking their medicine, which they will most likely require for the rest of their lives.

Current antipsychotic drugs, whether "typical" or "atypical", have significant side-effects including obesity, diabetes, dysphoria, sexual dysfunction, seizures and sudden death. There is a significant unmet medical need to identify and develop new medicines which are effective in treating psychosis and are free from the serious side-effects associated with current therapies.

Psychosis is a severe disorder of thought and can lead to severe distress and even death unless treated with antipsychotic drugs. Individuals with psychosis are unable to distinguish reality from fantasy. The individual is unable to differentiate among data originating from an external source and data arising from the inner self. This inability leads to delusions (misinterpretation of meaning) and hallucinations (misperceptions) and to a chain of social consequences which impair functioning.

Depression is an illness that involves our feelings, our thinking, and our senses. It undermines self confidence and changes the way we view the world. People diagnosed with major depression show a combination of symptoms that interfere with the ability to work, study, sleep, eat, and enjoy once pleasurable activities.
